Hey everyone, I'm very new to CFD and am having some trouble determining unstructured mesh quality metrics.
While I understand conceptually what a cell growth rate (say less than 1.25) means, I have no idea how to check if domain cells fall under that metric with Pointwise for an unstructured mesh. What metric in the examine menu would this fall under? Thank you! |

If you're extruding off the surface you have explicit control over the growth rate. In the isotropic region of the unstructured mesh, the boundary decay controls the growth rate. In an unstructured volume mesh I suggest looking at volume ratio.

You could look at Area Ratio (for surface meshes). It will color edges by the relative areas of the two cells that use them.
