Hi,
I exported Pointwise mesh in OPenFOAM, and got five files: boundary, faces, neighbour, owner, points. Then I put them in the polyMesh directory, and run OpenFOAM, but I got error message in the picture. Do I need to do some extra conversion in OpenFOAM? Anyone can help me?

Thank you

A couple of tips when importing grids generated with Pointwise into the OpenFOAM environment:

1. Ensure the grid is in meters
2. Check the BC types in the boundary file
3. Run 'renumberMesh -overwrite' to minimize the bandwidth

Hi Travis,

Thanks for your advices. I searched on line and use "createPatch" in OpenFOAM, and the problem solved. (I don't know how other people convert the pointwise exported files into OpenFOAM, it seems that they only copy the files under the polyMesh directory)

Another question: I followed your C grid tutorial on YOUTUBE, and export the mesh in FLUENT, there are warnings in the picture. Or do I need to assemble the three domains into one domain and then export to FLUENT?

Thank you

That warning is for high aspect ratio cells due to the small initial spacing in the boundary layer region.

Hi, I have the same problem when I copy the files under the polyMesh directory to OpenFOAM.
Can you upload your createPatchDict?
