This creates a new Set of cells called bubu and subsequently add the undeterminedCells to this set....

Also: what is the point of having both SimpleFoam and MRFSimpleFoam solvers since the latter includes the first?

You could just have MRFSimpleFoam which could check for the file MRFZones to exist...
