I think you should not force k to zero at your patch "right". Maybe you should try zero gradient instead.

If this doesn't help. Consider more stable schemes for turbulence, e.g....

I think there is something wrong with your initial turbulence conditions. This might be caused by your turbulence div-schemes. Waht do you use?
