So, there are still some inconsistencies in your environment. I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that you have both the "default" openmpi and the openmpi-gcc48 variant...

It seems that something is amiss in your environment regarding which mpicc and mpicxx you are using.

When you run:

$ mpicc --version
gcc-mp-4.8 (MacPorts gcc48 4.8.4_0) 4.8.4...
