Well if you can't define a length scale then how can you work out a Reynolds Number?

I am guessing you are looking for the surface Re number to look for turbulence transition or turbulent...

Define a function for Reynolds number, then it will appear as a variable you can do contours with. Have a look in the tutorials for how to do this.
