Correcting the volume element type will also correct face et edge element type (automatically)
But did you increase, in Gambit, the value of nodes in Set Volume Element Type , Set Face Element Type...

Did you increase, in Gambit, the value of nodes in Set Volume Element Type?
If you did: set it at lowest value.
> default set "MESH.NODES.HEX" numeric 8
