I think what happens is you co

I think what happens is you converted

div( mu grad(U)^T ) = grad(U)^T . grad(mu) (using div(U) == 0)

as opposed to

div( mu grad(U)^T ) = grad(mu) . grad(U)^T = grad(U) . grad(mu)
