the tgz and iso changed a few times. You can find the current SHA1 and MD5SUM in the "release notes" attached to the file.

1. You need usb-creator-* or similar to make a bootable USB stick out of the iso.

OR

2. You need nothing to make a bootable stick out og the tgz.
