1. If you have case running on your machine and you switched of the machine by mistake: When FIRE start running the case it creates .<CaseName>.dat.lock, .<CaseName>.flb.lock and .isrunning files....

it definitely happens in above two situations...

it definitely happens in above two situations however I have experienced it other situations also. In that case I right click on 'ssf' and select 'edit ssf' or close the project and reopen it.
