Hi,I want to simulate the pipe flow, and observe the fluctuation of velocity. Like most pipe simulations, I set the pipe diameter = 4cm, the inlet velocity = 0.133m/s, so Re = 5300, y_plus = 0.011cm, and the smallest scales of grid can be 0.055cm. I use GAMBIT, considering the compute capability, let the length of pipe to be 12.5cm. After that, I will use FLUENT LES to simulate
But can you tell me how to use GAMBIT to divide this grid? How to set the size function and boundary layer? Because I am a new learner of CFD, the follow is my Journal File, Can you tell me whether this grid is suitable for LES? if not ,how to change. Thanks ! / Journal File for GAMBIT 2.3.16, Database 2.3.14, ntx86 SP2006032921 / Identifier "default_id8044" / File opened for write Mon Sep 15 22:55:01 2014. volume create height 12.5 radius1 2 radius3 2 offset 0 0 6.25 zaxis frustum sfunction create "fix1" sourcefaces "face.1" startsize 0.055 growthrate 1.2 \ sizelimit 0.2 attachvolumes "volume.1" fixed undo begingroup edge picklink "edge.1" sfunction bgrid attachedges "edge.1" edge mesh "edge.1" successive ratio1 1 intervals 130 undo endgroup undo begingroup blayer create first 10 growth 1.2 total 74.3008 rows 12 transition 1 trows 0 \ aspectratio blayer attach "b_layer.1" face "face.1" edge "edge.1" add undo endgroup face mesh "face.1" pave size 1 face check "face.1" quality face msummarize "face.1" volume mesh "volume.1" cooper source "face.1" "face.3" size 1 undo /Undone to: volume mesh "volume.1" cooper source "face.1" "face.3" size 1 /ERROR occurred in the next command! volume mesh "volume.1" cooper source "face.1" size 1 undo /Undone to: volume mesh "volume.1" cooper source "face.1" size 1 edge delete "edge.1" lowertopology onlymesh undo /Undone to: edge delete "edge.1" lowertopology onlymesh volume mesh "volume.1" cooper source "face.1" "face.3" size 1 volume msummarize "volume.1" save name "guan.dbs" / Journal File for GAMBIT 2.3.16, Database 2.3.14, ntx86 SP2006032921 / Identifier "guan" / File opened for append Mon Sep 15 23:11:35 2014. identifier name "E:\\fluent\\9.15\\guan.dbs" old nosaveprevious solver select "FLUENT 5/6" physics create "wall" btype "WALL" face "face.2" physics create "inlet" btype "VELOCITY_INLET" face "face.1" physics create btype "OUTFLOW" face "face.3" save |
