I came across this forum when I did a Google search for Hadoop. Apparently there was a brief conversation regarding that subject, but there does not appear to be any specific threads related to that subject. My question is: Is anyone here interested in Hadoop and associated programs (Pig, Hive, etc)

Just asking

Greetings Clive,

CFD at stands for Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Hadoop is a bit pointless for CFD, at least for the next 3-5 years, since Hadoop is dedicated to massive live metadata management and storage.
As I mentioned on the other thread: - Hadoop would only be useful for coordinating massively distributed CFD simulations... which is still extremely rare (I'm assuming a few people/companies are doing this privately ).

Best regards,
