CFD-Online doesn't know how many wheels a car has??!!
I just got registered and the site asked me a random question as a step in the registration. The question is "How many wheels does a normal car have?" for which the answer OBVIOUSLY is 5!! They said the answer was wrong. COME ON DUDE! the big Computational Fluid Dynamics nerds don't count the extra wheel??? this is pathetic...

I drive an Audi. It doesn't have any extra wheel. A CFD engineer must follow the most recent trends you know. Many modern cars do not have any extra wheel. ;)

Damn.. the world is going to the dogs...

On this planet you will find more cars with 5 wheels than cars with 4. I agree with Umassche !!!! |
Perhaps the question should be more complicated... something like:
According to statistics in Europe, how many nominal wheels does a standard four seat automobile have? And what I mean by nominal? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_versus_nominal_value Although now this question sounds a bit like that famous one: What color was Napoleon's white horse? |
what about the 6 th wheel, the steering wheel?;)

This is really a very interesting topic, let's keep it up.
Even though I do like the style of "stack exchange" Q&A platform very much, but they disallow any nonconstructive posts, that's why in CFD help-forums, I like CFD-Online more. Because I found most CFD guys has tolerance for the humor which is so imporatnt to perform this boring programming job. But I also strongly advice that CFD-Online can have a function of vote-up. 1. 'Like' button is not very obvious, in my opinion, and is not well-used. 2. Please add the ability to sort the search results in votes number, so to filter those high quality posts. Cheers, |
