Hi,

I am trying out meshing in star ccm+. The mesh i am going for is an air domain surrounding a city. I am able to do the surface meshing and volumetric meshing with the help of the surface wrapper function. But unfortunately, by using the function, the geometry of the city is affected, the once cubic buildings become rounded.

Is there anyway to prevent the wrapper from doing this?

You need to refine the wrap then if some of your edges are getting chamfered.

Thanks for the quick reply. How do i refine the wrap?
What i can find are the wrapper feature angle and wrapper scale factor

If you are using the wrapper scale factor, then you are using Region-Based Meshing. I wouldn't recommend that mesh procedure, Parts-Based Meshing is superior.

However you can find all the mesh settings for RBM by going to continua and looking at the mesh continuum you have active. Alternatively for PBM you can go to parts>operations and examine the operation in question.

Thanks once again.

I have check all the available settings from the continuum tree but the only two settings that affect the wrap are just the feature angle and scale factor.

How else can it be refine to keep the geometry of the city (blocks)?

The feature angle and scale factor are very global parameters, they should not be used for mesh refinement. You need to use custom controls/boundary controls to refine the wrap at a surface level.
