I'm trying to simulate the downforce of an f1 wing which is moving inside the fluid. I dont know how to set the wing motion, i've created a 6DOF Body and constraint its motion to the z Axis and as I dont know how to give it a certain motion I've tried to give it a force that produces that motion. Is there a easier way? I suppose so, thank you in advance.

pd: I've read the manual and specially the example of the boat but the boat moves becouse of the water and not becouse a fixed motion.

I think you can use Mesh morphing or overset grid to give the wing a specific moyion.

Very thank you. And how can i know if the movement is correct? how can i plot it? is there a report?

Use either max or min function to extract x/or y/or z_max/ or min point of the wing. then plot the position of this point.

Are you sure, you need a 6DOF motion?

Usually the motion is driven by the motion of the car, not by fluid forces, therefore I would just apply an inlet velocity and a moving ground boundary instead of using 6DOF (which is definitely the wrong model as soon as the wing can't move according to fluid forces).

yes, you are right i handled to do it making some tricks but now i am trying to use the Morpher as Henry Arrigo said but I'm having problems becouse the wing does not follow the position i gave it, the amplitude is different, ideas? Thank you all.

pd: I dont know what you refer with moving ground boundary, as I know if i dont set the Morpher i only can give it velocity but not displacement. I will explain again what i want to do, i want to simulate a moving wing (with a prefixed movement) while it is in a moving fluid.

I v had such a problem, unfortunately i could not find any answer. i think i this regard ansys-cfx works better. i d be glad if you can find a way to overcome this issue in ctar-ccm+, because i left my problem unsolved.
Here is the link of my discussion:

Finally It was solved by using the rigid body motion and gave to it a prefixed velocity, i'll take a look at the morpher and try to discover why but it is weird. Very thank you to all of you that helped in this topic.
