Rotate part in wind tunnel

Hi all,

I'm currently doing aerodynamics analysis on a simple geometry in a wind tunnel. I want to get the drag force data in different wind directions (yaw), for example: -15º, -10º, -5º, 0º, 5º, 10º, 15º.

Actually my geometry is perpendicular to the inlet (velocity inlet) plane of the wind tunnel.

Do I have to rotate my geometry over the wind tunnel (from my CAD softawe) ? Is there another way to solve it ?

Thanks !

Right click your part in the tree (or region if you want...) and hit transform.

Thank you !

I did right click in my part > transform > rotate and I have rotated my part over the ground but now my geometry is not symmetrical... (I have symmetrical plane and half geometry of my part for save time in the volume mesh and iterating processes)

How can I fix this problem ?

Thanks, regards

Do not run half a car. You cannot run a half model using symmetry with the car at yaw

Hi plucas,

Thanks for your reply !

Yes, you right. Now I'm running the full model in a full wind tunnel without symmetrical planes.
Sorry for the stupid question. That was obvious but I was confused.

Not a stupid question. The site is for learning ;)
