Default Modeler @ StarCCM+: calculation speed very low

Hello everybody,

My CAD Model in my StarCCM+ Modeler contains several parameters and functions which depend on each other. Unfortunately, the calculation speed after variing a parameter especially for patterns is very slow.

Does anyone know, how to speed up this process? It takes for example 10-15 min to pattern 50 bodies which seems pretty unnormal to me.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

cheers

No, there really isn't a way to speed it up. 3D-CAD has some limitations in its current implementation that make it a little slow with many operations. Though of course there are a few things you can do to operation orders and ensuring you don't have useless operations, but it's too difficult to diagnose something like that over the web.

Thanks for your answer.
What specificly takes a lot of calculation time in the modeler? Just the operation between the geometrical setup? Creating patterns with round about 50 bodies shouldn't take that long normally

The type of operation, the history of operations, how complex the body is...there are quite a few places that can make it slow down. 3D-CAD is still a pretty young utility and isn't a replacement for a real CAD package. If you need some more speed you'll have to reconfigure what you're doing or use a 3rd party CAD package.
