refine mesh during simulation

Hello,
I have run a simulation until steady state with a relatively good mesh and I am now trying to refine the mesh at a few different locations in order to better catch some flow behaviors. I could not start the simulation with this thinner mesh because I did not know where those locations would be, and it would have taken too much time anyway to reach steady state. What is my best option now, after remeshing, to quickly see the new refined flow? - should I just continue running the simulation with the same parameters (they we chosen so that V*dt/dx is close to 1) - should I set a much smaller time step and keep the same inner iterations value - should I keep the same time step but increase the number of inner iterations - or maybe something else ? in order to keep V*dt/dx close to 1, I understand that I have to decrease the time step, but is it the only thing I can do or is there a way to refine the visualization much faster ? thanks a lot! |

There are only a few cases where you need the CFL to be 1, you probably don't need it here.
I would just keep iterating with your normal routine. |
