Hi all,

I'm newbie with the Star ccm+ program and i have a problem.

I have to simulate a cyclone in my university project and i want to imput a Particle Size Distribution, but I don't know how. I saw different methods in the User Guide, like Rosin-Rammler. I tried it, but i didn't succeed. Also, i think maybe is becouse i dont know how to program the properties of Particle Flow Rate.

Can anyone please help me?

Thanks in advance!

The size distribution is available to change on the particle injector, look for it there.

Thank you me3840!

I've tried to change the particle size distribution in the DEM: Particles in a Conveyor tutorial. I've change the particle diameter modifying the Injector>Values>Particle Diameter; Method: Rosin-Rammler but i can't run the simulation. Then, when I change again to the constant diameter I can't run the simulation either.

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

i just tried rosin rammler in the completed conveyor dem tutorial and it worked as expected - make sure you set reasonable rosin rammler properties

it could be you did not do the tutorial correctly and you can avoid that problem by downloading the completed tutorials from the support site

Well, you need to tell us why can't you run the simulation. What goes wrong? Is there an error? What happens?

Thank you Ping and me3840!

I've done the dem tutorial again and tried the Normal particle distribution in the conveyor and it worked. The properties of the particles and the injector were wrong in the last tutorial. So I think my problem is solved.

Thanks for the help!
