Hi,

I am simulating an cylindrical shape mixer for lagrangian DEM particles. For this I need to fill the cylinder initially with particles. I want to know how to fill cylinder with DEM particles initially.

you just inject the particles and let them fall into place

if you read the help you will learn that some injectors are better = quicker for filling than others

Hi ping,

I am already using lattice injector hope which is the quickest, but still it takes a long time to fill it. And also it take longer to complete time-step as no of particles increases. I want to know if we can fill initially fill a portion of the cylinder with particles.

as i said read the help and you will learn about other injection methods eg a part injector

there are also lots of tips about how to speed up runs by adjusting particle properties while filling

steve will also help you with lots of tips
