Wall function
Does anyone know the equivalence of scalable wall function of CFX in STARCCM+ for k-epsilon turbulence model ?
(In CFX, The scalable approach assumes that if on the first node y+<11 then it just makes it 11.) Thank you for your help |
I don't think there is one. From what I can tell, the scalable wall function in CFX is only intended to keep y+ manageble when doing grid refinement. Star-ccm+ has an all y+ wall treatment that blends near and far wall and is more flexible in terms of cell size/y+ requirements. For a typical k-e run with all wall y+ you should keep your y+ betwen 1 and 5 or 30 and 60 for best results and try to avoid y+ > 120. Those y+ values come straight from technical support engineers at CD-adapco.
I had never actually heard of the scalable wall function before, so I apologize if my quick research on the subject is incorrect. |
