How to calculate the maximum average value of an area in a derived plane?
 
I have a large derived plane. I am interested in finding what the maximum averaged velocity crossing this plane is in any connected 8ft^2 section.(Preferably a rectangular/square section, but any 8ft^2 section would work.)

Is this possible? Right now I can eyeball the derived plane and see where the velocity scalar is highest and by manual means roughly figure out the average in the size section I'm interested in, but wonder if there is a better way.

This phrasing is confusing. What is a maximum average? Are you saying want to find the 8 sq ft section that has the highest averaged velocity in your plane?

Yes, the way you described what I'm looking for is correct.

Derived Parts > Constrained plane is what you will want to use. Check out the help files on the subject. I have never used it myself, so I won't be much help.

User Guide > Analyzing > User Derived Parts > Working with Implicit Sections > Defining a Constrained Plane Section.
