So I'm doing a grid convergence test and I want to be able to take my results (velocity, pressure drop, etc.) from my coarse mesh and apply them as initial conditions for my medium mesh. Then I will do the same from the medium to fine mesh. This is to improve my convergence from mesh to mesh. How do I go about accomplishing this?

The easiest way is to establish what settings you want to use for all three meshes up front. Then run the coarse mesh. Once converged, plug in the settings for the next mesh, remesh, and run. Repeat until you are done.

when you do a mesh study and using wall functions, you might want to keep the thickness of the first cell layer constant, most likely for every mesh you want to have a proper wall y+. Pay attention that the refinement in the core mesh is not much smaller than the first layer.
Yes its really easy in sccm+ because the previous run is interpolated onto the new mesh. |
