Hi gents,
I would like to calculate a derivative of the velocity field with some sort of field function, however I'm not sure how to calculate it. The quantity is elongation: I know some field functions have the divergence and gradient operators however I would like specific gradients. Any ideas?

You can define your own field function by right clicking the field function node and selecting new. You can then essentially type in the equation you have using the syntax required. Here is a link to the general inputs https://stevedocs.cd-adapco.com/star...298A8=en=.html . There is also a pretty good amount of information on the Steve portal regarding user field functions that you can use.
