Hey guys,
I was wondering if there is any way in Star-CCM+ to create surface averages of a specific circle of radius R1, or of a ring with radii R1 and R2 ? I.e. imagine I have a tube of 25mm radius, but would only like an average of a circle with 10mm radius, is this possible using a derived part or some other way ? Thanks in advance for any response! Cheerio

Hi,
I am sorry I did not get your question. Can you tell us what exactly is the physical phenomema that you want to simulate/ capture/ execute. In the case of post-processing we can capture the results by creating probe poins, filed functions, reports, table values etc. or incorporating the desired boundary, regions feature during the cfd modelling for us to capture the results easily. Hi,
You can create any surfaces you want in the 3D-CAD modeler, for example by creating a sketch then extruding it as a sheet body. Then you can move these bodies to the Geometry Parts node, and create an Arbitrary Plane Section using surface(s) from the Parts. Once you have the Arbitrary Plane Section, you can create a surface average/integral report of any field function on it. For detailed instructions on this, search the user guide for Arbitrary Plane Section. Cheers! |
