Hello everybody,

i am trying to simulate boat sink and trim...i'm not interested to define good results for the transient and i would like to know what's tipically the max number of inner iteration for such a case.
Iam using 5 iterations per time step...do you think it is sufficient to define correct sink and trim value??or may i risk not to converge?
Many thanks

I used to use a 5 or 10 iterations per timestep and solver always converge correctly. I think 5 is a good one in this case.

Do you how to create a control volume in star-ccm+?

control volume has been created by the command : import>create block surface
I use half geometry for simmtrycal flow or whole model in such a case as manouvering where unsimmetrycal flow.

How do you substract from the block surface the geometry of the model. Because you have to do this in order to process symmetrical flows, haven`t you?

i generally build a block surface and i intersect it with my hullshape...than i will cut the block by edges from intersection
