natural ventilation modeling
Hi All,
I am trying to do CFD analysis from a building science approach. I am studying the air flow through louvered window. I want to model a single room with windows on opposite walls, say east and west walls.. The windows will have louvers at 45 angle. I want to visualize the air flow through the louver vanes and examine the velocity inside the space at various points. I would then change the louver angle and observe the changes. This experiment is a series of iterative process. I want to use Star CCM+ for doing this analysis. Any guidance on modeling this case will be helpful. I want to start with a 2D air flow analysis and then proceed to do a 3D air flow analysis. The variables for input will be wind speed, wind direction, outside dry-bulb temperature and RH. I want to be able to get the readings on air velocity inside the room at different points. Any insight is appreciated ! Thanks, Deepa |
Use your java programming skills for this.

I do not know JAVA programing.. Isn't this possible to model in CCM+ itself ?

CCM = JAVA, so i dont see how you are going to work without it.
big chance you are an engineer or scientist, so cant be that hard to learn the JAVA programming. I took me a while to learn everything but its worth it in the end |
An easy way to start is to record a Macro while you are performing operations that are repetative. once you are done with all these operations, stop the recording and analyze the java macro that is generated. Then you can modify the java code to loop through these set of commands by changing the values of the variables.

hi deepa
KOMATSU company people have already done a similar kind of simulation on acoustic louvers/ louvers. they have also observed the variation in flow velocity at different blade angles. they have also supported the research with practical reasults of wire frame method. if you can get that file through search, i think its easy for you to go ahead. atleast it can become a basis for your reasearch/analysis. all the best. |
