Visualize Star-CCM+ data in Paraview

3 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone

Any suggestions to why Paraview is not correctly showing the data from Star-CCM+ (which was autoexported as Ensight .case files)?

I'm using StarCCM+ v. 4.04.011 and Paraview v. 3.6.1. The mesh is unstructured and polyhedral and I read from somewhere else that Paraview should support this kind of mesh. However, the attached plots of the pressure field as shown in Paraview and Star-CCM+ indicate that something went wrong. I've tried to read the Ensight files into VisIt but it failed too and I don't have access to other visualizers to check if the Ensight files are corrupted.

Any other clue to why and how it can be resolved?

Thanks!

Update:
I managed to obtain an evaluation copy of Tecplot and loaded the Ensight files into this. It shows the same as Paraview (see last attached picture), so the problem must stem from the Ensight files that Star-CCM+ created.

Hey,

have you solved the problem yet? I got a similiar problem. After loading the .case file in paraview there is no velocity information there.

Do you have a hint for me?

Greetings.
