Mesh with repeated volumes
I am meshing a unit cell of a system in order to reduce the complexity of the overall system. Being a unit cell, it has certain repeated structures in the geometry. The issue I am having is that when I create the mesh in STAR-CCM+ (the geometry is modeled in solidworks) it will create one instance of each structure thereby leaving out any copies. Is this behavior normal? and will it affect my results? Thanks in advance.

by the way if anyone else had this issue the problem has been solved. changed from "largest internal" volume specification per region to "seed point" then placed seed points in the respective volumes.

Why don't you use the surface remesher on the parasolid instead of the surface wrapper?
From my experience SolidWorks gives surfaces and CCM+ handles them well. |
After using the surface wrapper, i would use the surface remesher anyway....
Mlynam, i'm not sure if i understand it the right way, but check the in-place interfaces if they can help you. Best regards |
