Default Problem with interfaces

Hello I'm from Germany,

I try to simulate a round filter cartridge.
I created 3 bodies:
1 body: inner fluid region
2 body: filter (porous reagion)
3 body: external fluid reagion
(see attached file)

Then I created the interfaces (In-Place).

When I try to mesh, I get this error-message: "Could not match up perimeters of bounderies interface fi and interface i"

Can someone help me?

Thanks

How did you defined the regions? did you split by surface topology or create the interfaces manually? Try to create them again..

I created 3 bodies in catia an imported them in 3 regions...

You must have to create a single region where the edges that shares the "external fluid/filter/inner fluid" faces must be marked as a non-manifold edges... so the software will understand that they are 3 different regions and split them creating the interfaces automatically..

Note that the faces that are common in 2 regions, are in fact just one face, that will be automatically duplicated in the interface creation

Hm... I'm still not understand. Sorry.
Where schould I create one reagion with non-manifold edges?
In Catia or CCM+?

Send a message via Skype™ to karthickeyan
you told that you had created inplace interface in which u should specify contact option

Thanks for help. I solved the problem. I converted the surface to interface and then combined them with the different reagions, and it works.

But now i have a problem with an other model.
I simulated a model without any filters, only fluid reagion.
I get a total pressure difference between inlet and outlet about 3500pa with 600 iteration steps.

Now I modifited my model and put the filters in. But in first step i wanted to simulate this model without any porous options. So I defined the filter reagions as fluid with interfaces.

I simulated this model on a 64bit 8core an 16GB ram machine and I get in 40000 !!! iteration steps only 1300Pa pressure difference. Is that normal?

Pete
