Stream-wise velocity profiles

Hi guys,

Can anybody please tell me how to create stream-wise velocity profiles in a specific plane using StarCCM+?

I am running 3D simulation over a bluff body. I wanted to see stream-wise velocity profiles on center-plane in the wake. Can you please help me out with this. I am stuck with this problem from the long time. I really appreciate your help. It will be very helpful even if give me a little bit of hint. I am a novice in CFD field, I also tried using XY plot to plot the profiles, but was not able to do so.

Thank you.

Do not know it it is that what you want, but u can try i with a derived part. Make a plane and integrate it afterwards in a scene.

Sounds like a "vector" displayer in a scene is what you want. Look it up in the help file.

This.

Make a section cut in derived parts, then add it to a scalar displayer. In the scene/plot tab, right click Displayers->New -> vector displayer. add cut in

Hi guys,

Thanks for the help. I am attaching the streamwise velocity profiles, I saw in some paper. I want to replicate them. Can you please refer to the attached images?

Thanks again. I really appreciate your help.

I wish to do something similar on an airfoil. Were you finally able to achieve these velocity profiles.

Anybody else with experience in extracting boundary layer and velocity profile is welcome to help. Many Thanks in advance.

I have access to Tecplot and Ansys CFX
