Hi everyone,
I am facing a problem while running my simulation. In fact when the computation generates more than 700000cells I am having an error "A request for memory failed. This is typically due to insufficient virtual memory". Is there any thing to do in order to solve the problem? Thanks |

close all other programs, better still reboot and only start STAR-CCM+ and Task Manager, then keep an eye on its memory use.
Increase your Base Size by a factor of 10 to start with and see if it meshes and solves, then try to go smaller. The wrapper can use more memory than other mesh models, which normally use much less than is required for the solvers. 2GB RAM should be fine for about 1M poly or hexa cells depending on what physics are enabled. Also never use tet mesh unless you want to double memory use and solve 5+ times slower for equivalent accuracy. |
