Radiation

When modelling a plate conducting and radiating heat away from it to the air around it, what is the most appropriate model to use?

Is the participating media radiation or surface to surface radiation appropriate?

I think surface to surface is appropriate with grey modelling. However, What is the radiation temperature in the Physics model under grey thermal radiation? Is this the ambient temperature for radiation?

Would anyone know of any tutorials regarding radiation that might be useful? I have tried the ones included in the user manual but would be looking for some more.

I am kind of wondering about the same.
I think you should use participating media when most of your domain has a significant absorption coefficient, e.g. solids.
