3-d Meshing issues
I am new to Star-design and Star-ccm+, and I am working on some simple external flow problems (3d external flow around a sphere). I created a block (14mx6mx8m) and subtracted a sphere (.5m dia) out for the fluid domain and then clicked on the export to ccm+ icon.
I split the body by angle and defined all the walls, veloc. inlet, pressure outlet etc. I then selected Surface Remesher, Trimmer and Prism Mesher with a base size of .5m, min. cell size as 10% of base and max. cell size as 100% of base.
With either a tet or poly mesh applied, after the meshing in done the mesh displayed on the block just shows two large triangles on each side of the block. I don't know if the correct mesh is actually there and just not displaying correctly, or if something else is wrong. The output window reports thousands of vertices, cells, faces, and edges while computing the mesh.
Let me know if anyone has any suggestions.
In the window, but not on top of one of the visualized parts, right click -> apply representation -> volume mesh.
Alternatively, click on the scene/plot tab near top left, select your Displayer (should be a Mesh displayer, if not present make one and hide the others), Scroll down in the properties tab and change Representation from whatever it is to Volume Mesh
Ok, got it to work - thanks for your help!
