Hello everybody.

Does anybody know, whether Star is downwardly compatible.
Because at the moment we use Star CD V4.06 and when we want to open a .mdl file generated with Version 3.26 we achieve the message:
**WARNING - FILE param.prp IS INCORRECT. IT COULD BE FOR A DIFFERENT VERSION OF pro-STAR. A NEW param.prp WILL BE WRITTEN AUTOMATICALLY
BASED ON THE .mdl FILE BEING OPENED.
**ERROR - NOT ENOUGH MEMORY CAN BE ALLOCATED. USE A SMALLER PARAM.PRP FILE OR A LARGER MACHINE.
But the size of file param.prp is only 3kB.
Thank you in advance
mfg Luke

First, try to delete param.prp file at all - ProSTAR will create a new one with default parameter values on opening then model and then try to adjust their values. Even if it fails, chances are that you'll get a more specific error message in this case, telling you what parameters shoukd be increased.

Hello A_Lyaskin.

Thanks a lot. This was exactly the information we needed. Now we can run the file. Have a nice day.

Not sure about 4.08 but I have 4.12 running fine on Windows 7 64.

CCM+ 5.04 installs as well, for some earlier versions I think you have to turn on Vista compatibility.

For both I was using the windows 64 bit version.
