beam188 DOF release
 

Hello,

I am having problems to simulate a pot bearing on a bridges' column-Deck connection. I tried the ENDRELEASE command but I can't figure out how to apply this command.

By following the path:
Main Menu>Preprocessor>Loads>Load Step Opts>Other>End Releases>Beams>On Selected set



We are supose to chose a node (or a set) to set free the DOF's. But this command creates new nodes and makes the strucutre to split on those nodes. And I can't understand this behavior.



Can someone please help?
