Starting trouble.

I'm new to SU2. I downloaded win7 64bit version and installed. The problem is I'm not getting how to start it..

Any help would be appreciated.

I recommend you follow the quick start tutorial.
You can run SU2 by entering commands in the command prompt (cmd.exe from the start menu). In order for windows to find the SU2 executables, the SU2 directory should be in your PATH environment variable (check if it is, it wasn't for me).

I tried using the path but Cmd is saying that " There is no configuration file!"..

Did you give a configuration file as an argument?

SU2 has no GUI or anything, it runs completely from the command line.

From the quick-start tutorial (http://adl-public.stanford.edu/docs/display/SUSQUARED/Quick+Start+Tutorial):

Quote:

Create a directory in which to run the tutorial. Copy the config file (inv_NACA0012.cfg) and the mesh file (mesh_NACA0012_inv.su2) to this directory. Navigate to this directory in a terminal.
Run the executable by entering "SU2_CFD inv_NACA0012.cfg" at the command line.

OK I understood but where I could find the inv_NACA0012.cfg and mesh_NACA0012_inv.su2 files?

That file looks like a part of a mesh? The mesh file itself is used by SU2 through the config file.

Indeed Selmar .. When I run the file "mesh_NACA0012_inv.su2" in command window I got that answer and struck in results part.

I'm planning to go for 3D wing now. Is it possible to create a geometry, domain etc. using SU2.?

Inform me step by step..

Running the mesh file? How? From what I know, mesh files are used by SU2 only through the configuration files. The config files have the mesh name and define the boundary conditions and other parameters. The CFD code looks through the config file, finds the mesh name, loads the mesh and uses it to solve the equations on.

You can create meshes for SU2 with Pointwise, it has an SU2 plugin.

I am just an SU2 beginner, just like you. I'm not here to give you step-by-step information on how to accomplish things like that, even if I could - I advise you to read the documentation a bit more thoroughly. Most notably, look through the tutorials. They contain a lot of information.
