Whenever I try to run continuous_adjoint.py on my case, the gradients for design variables 0-18 (ie the lower surface) are zero.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

I've attached my config file and gradient output file.

Thanks
Aidan

Thanks for offering to take a look! Can you send me a private message with your email address and I'll send it to you? I can't upload *.su2 files as a message on here.

Cheers,
Aidan

Hi Bachduong

I think there is a problem with my mesh, as my config is identical to the steady_rae2822 test case.

Have you had a look at the mesh?

Thanks
Aidan

Do you have mesh file in other format? I want to check mesh with Ansys Fluent.

Hi,

Were you guys able to straighten this issue out? Aidan, were you able to successfully run some of the optimization cases that come in the Test Cases folder to make sure that there isn't an issue with your SU2 installation?

Cheers,

Hi Tom,

Unfortunately I wasn't able to fix it, no. The test cases work fine so I'm just using the test case mesh instead.

Cheers
Aidan
