Hello, I'm new to CFD, recentlyI want to do a research of air-blast simulation, in fact I want to simulate the explosion in urban area (anti-terrorism related). I want to know if SU2 can help me to do this: compressible, 2D, inviscid, also high resolution methods required.

I have already read some tutorials, but I don't know if the SU2 fits my problem.

If there is something improper in my question, please excuse me.

Hi,
SU2 counts with some of the elements that you need to perform that kind of simulations: High speed second order upwind method, Arbitrary Lagrange Euler formulation, and Finite Element Analysis to evaluate the loads on the buildings (in case you want to perform fluid-structure interaction which looks reasonable in this context).

These simulations are very expensive, and an anisotropic grid adaptation would also useful. SU2 counts with a standard homothetic grid adaptation capability.

Hello!
Thanks for ur message, I'll take a try. And maybe I'll do that simulation with both SU2 and OpenFoam. If I'm succeed, I will be glad to share the result with u.
