Mathematical problem

Hello,everyone!
Could you tell me the meaning of the Mathematical problem options.(eg.DERIECT or ADJOINT)

Thanks

Hi,

The direct problem will solve the original set of governing equations, and the adjoint option will instead solve the dual of the governing equations in order to obtain sensitivity information. If you are interested in basic analysis using the governing flow equations, then 'DIRECT' will do the trick. If you might be interested in shape design, mesh adaptation, etc. where sensitivity information is needed, then you might need to run the ADJOINT problem as well (note that you need to run the DIRECT problem first before running the ADJOINT problem).

Please see the tutorial here for more info: http://adl.stanford.edu/docs/display...Start+Tutorial.

Hope this helps,
Tom
