Dear SU2 developers,

I am interested in the transition model Gamma-Reynolds_theta coupled with SA. If I look at the relative source files (SU2_CFD/src/solver_direct_transition.cpp, SU2_CFD/src/numerics_direct_turbulent.cpp, SU2_CFD/src/numerics_direct_transition.cpp ), I see a lot of comments and print statements which indicate that this particular model is still under development. Furthermore, in the last AIAA paper about SU2, this model is not mentioned anymore.
In this respect, I would like to know if you plan to continue its implementation.

Thank you very much!

best,
g.

Thanks a lot for you interest in SU2,

The complete implementation is in place in the branch feature_transition. Currently we are in a V&V stage. The implementation has taken some time because we started with the modification for the SA model, and then we switch to the original SST based implementation.

Hopefully it will be ready in a couple of weeks,

Cheers,
Francisco

Dear Francisco,

just to be sure...you are going to implement it only for the SST model, right?

Thank you very much again.

Best,
Giorgio

Hi Francisco,

Just wanted to check if you have any updates on this front - LM model implementation into SST model. Coz, when I tried adding the KIND_TRANS_MODEL = LM into either of the SA or SST cfg files for the flatplate tutorial case, a message "No LM restart yet!!" came up and I wasn't sure if I was doing anything wrong or if the implementation is still pending.

Would be great to know the current status in v4.0.0. Thanks!

Sree.

Hi,

We are still working on the LM model for the SST. At the moment, it still has verification/testing status, but hopefully, we will be able to put it out in a future release. It is not available in v4.0.1.

Hope this helps,
Tom

Hi economon,

I'm using the V4.1.1 'Cardinal' version of SU2, and I was wondering if the SST or SA transition model is available to use with this version?

If not could you please give some update or any advice on transition modelling on SU2..

Thanks in advance
Kind regards,
Kishore
