Why is the side slip option only for compressible flows
Hi,
I was wondering why the side slip option is available only for compressible flows? Is there a workaround for this in order to simulate side-slip simulations for e.g. cars which operate in the incompressible fluid regime? Thank you --Denzell |

If you only have one angle to simulate, you could also make your mesh tilted relative to the x direction. If you don't want to do that, however, you might be able to simulated the incompressible fluid regime with the compressible solver - physically, flow around a car is compressible - it's just that the compressible terms are negligible and can be left out. I don't have experience with simulating that regime personally, I suppose it could be possible that numerical errors could accumulate for that case (ie, gradients of density being close to machine precision), or another issue that I'm not aware of. |
