Time slider for xy plot which synchronize with animation

Hi,

I saw the tecplot unsteady tutorial video and there's a part where integration was done to get the pressure on the blades. Then the animation was run together with a time slider on the xy plot to indicate the instantaneous moment of the pressure. I think that is a very useful feature of tecplot.

I currently have an animation of a moving plate and a xy force time plot, which contains the time and horizontal force of the plate. So how can I replicate the above to get 2 frames with an animation on top and a force time plot below with a time slider to indicate the force at a particular time?

Thank you!

Hi quarkz,

I have the same question. How do you have an animation of the flow and also an xy plot of the forces with a slider that shows the corresponding time in the animation? If someone has figured out how to do this, please let me know.

Thanks,

Animation and time markers

There are several ways to do that type of animation. The time marker in XY and time linking are options under Plot>Axis and Frame>Frame linking.

one quick way to use this strategy is via Tools>time series plot which allows users to click a point in space for an unsteady solution and extract that point over time. The resulting line plot has the time marker on and as you animate you can see the time marker move in the line plot.

I will post a tutorial on this and the integration over time this afternoon. Hope that helps.
