Extract variable information from an arbitrary shaped subzone

Hi all,

I am trying to calculate variable averages in an arbitrarily defined region within a zone.

As an example, I have attached a contour plot of u-velocity of a lid-driven cavity flow. Now, I am trying to calculate the area averaged Temperature and Pressure for the defined region bounded by points 1-5. I know the (x,y) co-ordinates and joined them using straight lines.

I was thinking of extracting the region as a separate sub-zone. not able to figure out how? Then calculating average properties can be performed using data analysis option.

I am using Tecplot 2013 and source data is obtained from FLUENT simulation.

I would greatly appreciate if anybody can help on how to resolve this.

Thanks,
Arnab
