I can use tecplot to draw a vector graph, but when I try to draw the streamline, it shows that "not all the points along the rake were within the data field"? What's wrong?

Thank you.

first of all, you CAN draw streamlines in Tecplot

-make sure you are in domain mode ( not in X-Y line)
-where are you importing your velocity data from? (what CFD package?)
-try a few point drops (as opposed to a rake) just to make sure that it is not the data. for example, it make not be able to resolve spurrious velocities
-try adjusting your streamline settings (box next to the streamline icon). try adjusting rake density, interpolation mechanism, etc.

i think if you just play around with it enough you should be able to get it to work....that is, like i said before, if it is just bad data that cannot be resolved. does your velocity field seem reasonable?

Can someone please help me to plot streamlines?
I have got a data file with x,y,u and v.
I am able to plot the vector plot but am unable to plot the streamlines.

Can someone please tell the steps or procedure to plot the streamlines from this data file?
ITS URGENT

It's very easy !You have two ways to do it. Once you have displayed the velocity field, clikc on the box "streamtrace" on the left side, juste below Zone style. Then click on the symbol which is like two arrows after the button "..." . Then on your figure, click from the bottom left corner up and draw a straight line up to the upper right corner of your figure. Then release the mouse. You may see appear a box which says "Not all points along the rake were within the data field" . It doesn't matter. click ok Then it will draw the streamlines.

Or you can just click anywhere on you figure where you want to add a streamline. Then you add as much streamline you need where you need some.. You should have first clicked on the symbol of the two arrows.
Shaqpad and elham usefi like this.
