Warping in Tecplot
Sorry if this thread is misplaced, but I didn't really find a suitable forum for my question...
I am just starting to use Tecplot 360 for visualizing my CFD results. Is there a possibility to stretch a 2D data set (e.g. a slice) in the third dimension by a certain solution value? So the height of the resulting 3D surface corresponds to the this value. What I mean is the "Warp" filter in Paraview. Thanks for your help! Andreas |

Thanks, this works if I have a purely/originally 2D data set.
But what if I have both a 2D data set (e.g. a 2D zone created by slice extraction) and a 3D data set (e.g. the original model)? Can I visualize both in the same plot? The problem is that I have would have to assign different XYZ variables: for the 3D data set: X -> X Y -> Y Z -> Z (because I want to see the model as it is) But for the 2D slice: X -> X Y -> Y Z -> U (or any other variable that I want to use for warping) Can this be realized somehow? |

I believe that SergeAS has provided the best solution to your question. An additional hint on how to have multiple frames in one view (with one having a transparent background) is provided in this tutorial tip on the Tecplot web site: http://www.tecplot.com/Training/Plot...ceControl.aspx
