Post-Doc opening at the Laboratory for Alternative Energy Conversion (LAEC), at
Simon Fraser University (SFU), in transport phenomena in porous media with
applications in adsorption systems and fuel cell technologies
We are hiring a post-doc who has a proven sound expertise in modeling and
experimentation in the following areas: transport phenomena (heat, flow, mass,
ion) in porous media, thermal analysis, compact heat exchanger design, and
Computational Fluid Dynamic. A strong background in thermofluidic modeling and
experimentation, with some knowledge and experience in prototyping and
verification/validation analysis is key.
Additional expertise in refrigeration and heat pump systems, heating ventilating
air conditioning, and other energy management is desirable. A Ph.D. in
mechanical or chemical engineering completed within the last five years, or soon
to be completed, is required.
We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starting candidate interested to
interact with a variety of academic and industrial experts. Excellent written,
oral, and presentation skills are required. Funding for up to 3 years may be
available. The candidate will be expected to provide input to graduate students,
liaise with industrial partners, produce publishable results, lead design and
prototyping, and publish frequently. Please e-mail your application package to
Dr. M. Bahrami at mbahrami@sfu.ca as a single PDF file. The application package
should include a cover letter, CV, and a list of references.
Deadline: Until position is filled.
