Position Summary:
The Senior Technical Services Engineer is responsible for providing world class
assistance to customers and channel partners in the usage of our products, as
well as for leveraging our knowledge and relationships to assist in growing our
software business in line with our corporate vision and performance expectations.
 
Activities may include combinations of customer support and other services,
listed below, in proportions that are consistent with business needs, with the
individual’s skills and interests, and with the individual’s availability: 
Product Support, Sales Assistance, Key Customer Development, Customer Training,
Billable Services, Business Unit Assistance, and Marketing Assistance and
Business Development.
 
Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities:
Product Support: Support customers promptly and effectively in order to improve
our customers’ productivity and satisfaction with ANSYS simulation products.
Sales Assistance: Demonstrate the value of the ANSYS vision and software to
sales prospects through collaboration with Sales in order to grow sales volume
in existing markets.  Create and present technical materials.
Key Customer Development: Consistently improve our understanding of our
customers’ workflow and technical needs and communicate new opportunities and
risks to Sales; proactively work to grow the software usage by demonstrating new
solutions based on the ANSYS vision and software.
Customer Training: Train customers on the usage of ANSYS simulation products to
increase their proficiency, independence, and success in simulating engineering
problems with ANSYS software.
Billable Services: Provide consulting services to enhance the value and usage of
our software and to drive increased sales of ANSYS simulation products.
 
Business Unit Assistance: Collaborate with the Business Units to improve ANSYS
software products and the customers’ experience using these products.
Business Development/Marketing Assistance: Demonstrate the value of the ANSYS
vision and software to the marketplace through collaborations on marketing
campaigns and business initiatives in order to grow new markets.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- MS degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or related field, with 5+ years
of relevant industrial experience; PhD preferred with 2+ years industrial
experience in use of
  ANSYS Fluids (CFD) software, or other commercial CFD software for aerodynamics
or automotive underhood thermal management
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to obtain practical
engineering solutions to difficult problems related to  thermal modeling of
automotive systems,  front end and
  underhood airflow prediction, automotive external aerodynamics, etc.
- Ability to work independently, as well as with others in a diverse team
environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to communicate
effectively with
  customers
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to create engineering
solutions to customer
  problems
- Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English
