A PhD scholarship is available in the Institute of Mechanics, Materials and
Civil Engineering of the University of Louvain (UCL) in Belgium. The research
projects focuses on  numerical simulation of turbulent flows with temperature
gradients, with application to the “Pressurized Thermal Shock” (PTS) problem
during a loss of coolant accident in nuclear reactors. Successful candidates
will possess a  Master's degree in engineering, physics or mathematics and a
background in fluid dynamics and in numerical methods for partial differential
equations.  Good knowledge of English is required.
