POSITION: CFD MESH ADAPTATION SPECIALIST
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Development of 3D CFD solution-based mesh adaptation codes
2. Formulation of error estimators
3. Code optimization and MPI parallelization
4. Code validation and testing
5. Maintenance of supporting documentation
6. Customer support
7. Compliance with programming standards
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Master degree and 2-3 years of relevant experience, or a
Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens or be eligible to obtain a valid Canadian
work permit.
To be considered, applicants must demonstrate competence in most of these subjects:
1. Mesh adaptation algorithms for hybrid meshes
2. Error estimators and their use in mesh adaptation
3. In-depth knowledge of C++, C, FORTRAN 90/95, Linux and shell languages
4. MPI parallel programming, mesh partitioning, load balancing
5. Splines and parametric surface representation algorithms
6. Optimization algorithms
7. Fluid dynamics
8. Finite Element Method for the solution of PDEs
9. Code development, testing, validation and maintenance
In addition, knowledge of these subjects is highly desirable:
1. CAD packages, such as Pro/Engineer or AutoCAD
2. Mesh generation packages such as ICEMCFD, Gridgen
Personal qualities:
Maturity, good work ethics and organization, quick learning abilities,
initiative and ability to integrate and participate in a dynamic team, good
verbal and written communication.
